Staff Testimonials

To demonstrate what it’s like working at Transact, some of our staff have described their experiences in their own words:

Patricia – Solicitor

Transact is a friendly, collaborative and relaxed company offering a good work/life balance. Transact offers good induction training and are supportive of further professional development.

I joined the Legal Department in 2016 as a solicitor.  My role has covered a variety of work and I have had the opportunity to work with members of the team as well as people in different departments in the company.

My role involves providing legal advice to the business in relation to commercial projects and also on the implementation of new law and regulations. I also deal with a variety of legal queries from various departments in the business, which can be anything from advising on individual client cases to property matters.

Emily – Business Analyst

The ‘people aspect’ of Transact is very social and an important part of being able to build great relationships with colleagues inside and outside office working hours. This drives us all to succeed as one team, and help each other every step of the way.

I joined Transact in 2017 as a Client Service Manager. This role allowed me to gain vast experience within the finance industry and I quickly became a Transfers Subject Matter Expert.

In 2020, I was promoted to Client Operations Supervisor where I got exposure to the management side of my regional team. This gave me the opportunity to provide my insight to developments happening throughout the business. In 2022, a secondment opportunity came available as a Junior Business Analyst within System & Service Development, and I was made a permanent member of the team within 8 months. This role involves identifying, gathering, analysing and validating business requirements, working closely with senior management, the development team in Australia, other analysts and stakeholders throughout the business.

Keval – Business Development Manager

At Transact, we all share the same ambition and values – to offer an industry-leading service to the financial advice market.

As well as maintaining a service-driven ethos, we are a dynamic and social company. Speaking up with ideas is welcomed throughout all departments and I believe the success of the organisation is due to the collaborative efforts of all.

I started at Transact in 2015 as a trainee. On gaining initial experience in the Document Management and Client Approval teams, it was obvious to me that I wanted to build relationships with our clients. I have held positions as Client Service Manager and Third Party Support Manager, before joining the Sales Team as an Adviser Support Manager and now Business Development Manager for the London Region.

Harriet – Asset Onboarding and Servicing Team Leader

Transact has a very friendly, open culture. It manages to maintain a good balance of relaxed yet professional, and development is always encouraged on both an individual and business-wide basis.

I joined Transact in 2015 as an administrator within the Asset Servicing team. In 2017 our team merged with the Products Onboarding team to create the Asset Onboarding and Servicing team,  since then I have been promoted to supervisor and then to team leader.

My team covers the “life cycle” of an asset on the platform. We manage the whole onboarding process, from the initial review of documentation to coordinating the setup of trading accounts. We then handle all valuations of assets in coordination with our data provider and other third parties, and we analyse and interpret the terms and characteristics of corporate actions.

Lauren – Corporate Events Manager

Transact has a very relaxed, friendly culture, and is a great place to work.

I started my career at Transact in 2010. I had just finished my studies and was looking to get into the finance industry. I started my journey at Transact in the Document Management team before moving into Sales Support.

I now manage Corporate Events for Transact. I am responsible for organising and attending all Transact events, which include our regional Connect and Breakfast meetings, award ceremonies and our attendance at other external events.

To do well at Transact – work hard and seize any developmental opportunities that come your way, take advantage of the secondment programmes available.

Brian – Technical Counsel

Transact is a great place to work as it is a successful business that continues to lead the sector. You need to be self-motivated and a team player to make the most of the environment. The culture is open and people at all levels are approachable, which helps in maintaining the focus and progressing the growth and development of the business.

I initially joined Transact to help develop the system, forms and other areas such as the illustrator for pension wrappers. At the same time I was responsible for setting up a Technical Support service for advisers as well as dealing with colleagues on a wide range of tax technical queries.

Over time the Technical Services team expanded to 15 people providing a high-touch service to advisers, regulatory information to HMRC and assisting other areas of the business to ensure the maintenance of high quality service.

Since April 2023 I have become more focussed on promoting Transact to advisers and the industry at large by presenting to adviser firms and at industry wide events, as well as providing articles for publication and comment on topical technical issues.

Jane – Group Chief Financial Controller

Client experience of the platform is at the heart of everything we do, from the client services teams through to the asset reconciliations team, and it informs the way in which we work.

I joined Transact in 2000 as an Accounts Assistant working with the Financial Controller, and the firm supported me through the remainder of my ACCA qualification. I was gradually given more and more responsibility, combining both corporate accounting and client accounting. As my role covers corporate accounting, client accounting and investor relations, I could go from looking at a client money query, to an IFRS accounting issue, to arranging a meeting with potential investors, all within an hour.

No day is the same at Transact, and I think that is true for most of my colleagues. It is what prevents roles from becoming mundane, and keeps pushing personal development.

The Transact culture is one of collegiate, smart, engaged, hard-working people who are able to adapt to new processes and developments as they arise. Transact is the sort of business where people who can work flexibly, and with agility, will flourish.

Phil – Team Manager – Adviser Support and Sales Support

Transact actively encourages fresh ideas and for staff to progress within the business, so if you feel that you can contribute towards continued growth at Transact, come and join a great team.

My career at Transact has been a fascinating journey to date. I first came on board in 2014 as an Adviser Support Manager in the South East, care-taking the region during a colleague’s maternity leave. I have also held positions as DIM relationship manager as well as doing a secondment as a Business Development Manager, also for the South East.

Transact is an open, friendly and professional business to work for. We are successful in what we do however we have still managed to maintain that ‘non-corporate’ atmosphere which I feel is important. Since going public, all staff members are shareholders of the business and this further instills the feeling that we are “all in this together”.

Joe – Head of System Support

The good thing about Transact is that although there are many teams and departments, we are all part of one wider team. Everyone is engaged and helps input towards a shared goal for the advisers and clients we provide a service for.

I started Transact when I was a teenager, the years have gone by quickly! My first role was within the Document Management Department, but quickly an opportunity arose within our Application Support department and I became involved in the detail of writing bespoke reports, data analysis, raising change, supporting staff and testing our in-house software and website.

I went on to lead the software Test Team who are responsible for coordinating and managing our monthly software releases. I am now also managing the IT Support function who are responsible for all end user support on our systems.

Glen – Website Analyst

Transact has always been and continues to be an open, friendly company which values and invests in its staff, and is focused on providing an excellent service and platform to financial advisers and their clients.

I joined Transact in 2008 because of its reputation and it being a well-established company within the UK platform industry.

I started in Transact as a Document Management Administrator, then moved into Sales Support, before my current role as Website Analyst in 2016. My role allows me to share development ideas and bring forward my knowledge of online activity. It allows me to assist with online development and help maintain Transact’s award-winning platform.
