Adviser Update

Transact Webinar Highlights From 6 February

Our Transact 6 February webinar hosted by Glen Sweet interviewing Jonathan Gunby, Tom Dunbar, and Brian Radbone provided insights into our planned developments and practical ways in which we can support your business. Please do watch the full video or excerpts here. The key topics from each speaker are summarised below.

Jonathan Gunby, shares the latest update on cash interest and reflections on the FCA announcements on charges, skimming and disclosure. He shares the challenges advisers face in expanding and adding more clients, and how demonstrating evidence in annual reviews is a challenge that we can help with. We can also help with succession planning, that is often left too late, and platform integrations with back-office systems and client portals can help provide the efficiencies firms are looking for. It is important to keep clients updated during the impending government elections, and to engage soonest with younger generations and families generally as children are the likely inheritors of wealth.

Tom Dunbar provides a service update and confirms that nearly all tasks in our client operations are being dealt with on the same day. We have full headcount and staff retention levels are very good. Our staff training and development function continues to improve; noting the importance of specialists in delivering great service in 2024. He shares improvements coming to Transact, including the following planned developments:

  • The removal of paperwork and signatures, where practical, while maintaining client security.
  • Opening new wrappers for existing clients without a signature (ISA and LISA first).
  • Appointing MPS/DIM for existing clients without a signature.
  • The ability to move assets between linked portfolios on Transact Online; and more.

We have used APIs for over 20 years, and these allow back-office systems to connect to our transactional, valuation and remuneration reconciliation feeds. He also shares our plans to:

  • Seamlessly update two-way-data transfer between the platform and the back office.
  • Partner with Finio to translate our APIs into Intelliflo’s APIs.
  • Build a seamless integrated portfolio opening process.

Brian Radbone shares changes to the lifetime allowance, death benefit allowance, PCLS changes and links between GIAs and bonds.
