Why Unlocking Gilts: Understanding the market and opportunities?
So far this year we have seen an increase in borrowing costs across major developed markets, as many governments continue to run large deficits and inflation concerns persist. The UK has seen some of the most pronounced increase in borrowing costs globally, with UK Gilt yields rising to levels last seen in the late 1990s, this has resulted in negative returns from UK Government bonds in January. In our session, Ben Edwards (CFA) will unpick the current economic landscape and how this is impacting Gilts, we will consider the impact on our MPS, the opportunities and how we are positioned.
