TRANSACT ONLINE (TOL) – RECENT ENHANCEMENTS
This month we have enabled GIA transfers via Guided Applications and made improvements by extending the timeout on TOL to four hours when MFA is enabled, added the ability for Super Users to add new advisers online and added a vulnerable client marker enabling us to identify additional support needs for clients.
General Investment Account (GIA) transfers via Guided Applications
Following the success of the ISA and Pension transfer instructions through the guided application process, and much faster completion times, we have now added full GIA transfers to our online transfer process. If the ceding provider accepts electronic transfers, requests can be with them within minutes of us receiving the portfolio application – removing paper forms from the process, reducing rekeying and speeding up the process for you and your clients.

Online Adviser Registration
When a new adviser joins your firm, it is now possible to register them with TOL yourself. You can do this by “creating” new advisers online, via the Housekeeping menu. We will then process this within two business days, and an email will be sent to the new adviser with instructions on how to activate their new account. They can then link to and place online instructions for their clients. You need to be a Transact Super User to “create” new financial advisers. Access levels for personnel can be found in the same ‘Online Access’ area in the ‘Access Type’ column.

Extended timeout with Multi-Factor Authentication
As well as providing extra security and convenience MFA, once activated, allows you to stay logged in for longer, from 15 minutes up to four hours. This is a genuine time saver, reducing the need to repeatedly log in and another reason to activate MFA. Later this year, MFA will become compulsory so why not get ahead and activate it now. You can do this by going to ‘Account Settings’ under ‘Security’.
Vulnerable Client marker
A “Vulnerabilities” marker has been added to the Investor Personal Details report to highlight clients you have identified as having a vulnerability. This helps us recognise their support needs and provide additional assistance when necessary.

If you have a client with a vulnerability, please send us the details via “Email Transact” in the contact section of TOL to ensure the information remains secure. The client will not be able to see this marker in their online account.
