Staff Profile

Why did you join Transact?

Transact was a young company that had only been around for a few years when I started. It had a very easy, informal feel and everyone knew each other. Everyone was very approachable and eager to help one another.

Talk us through your career at Transact so far.

I started my career at Transact in our Document Management team. I worked there for a few years, learning about the different functions in the company and understanding the industry.

I then moved to the IT department, as I had spent most of my working career in IT and a System Support Analyst role became available. My responsibilities within the team focused more on offering the business a 3rd line support service and so my role then became 3rd Line IT Systems Support.

What does your role involve on a day-to-day basis?

Currently I am in charge of OS (Operating Systems) and software updates. I ensure our desktops are up to date with the latest patches and that our servers also remain up to date; constantly reviewing our procedures where necessary.

I am also an escalation point for new and junior members of the team who need advice and help with their tasks.

How would you describe the culture at Transact?

The company has been going through some really positive changes, such as being listed on the stock exchange. The culture here is sociable, and the employees are very friendly and happy to help. A lot of good friendships are forged at Transact.

What advice would you give someone joining Transact?

We are a very client orientated and driven business, so a friendly and helpful attitude will be a huge benefit to someone starting in the business.
