Dillan – Client Operations Manager
Joined Transact April 2008
Why did you join Transact?
I joined Transact in 2008. At the time, Transact was already established as the top UK wrap platform and had an undisputed reputation in the industry to match.
My early impression of the people at Transact was that they did not want to rest on their laurels. They wanted to continue to be innovative and lead the way. They made me feel like I could contribute to the company’s successes. Over 10 years on, I still get that feeling.
Talk us through your career at Transact so far.
I’ve been fortunate to experience many roles at Transact.
I started in Client Services working on what was then one of ten Client Service teams. To broaden my company knowledge I moved from Client Services to our Learning and Development department for a year, which allowed me to work closely with all areas of the business. I made my way back to Client Services in 2011 where I have since taken on a number of different management roles. I am currently a Client Operations Manager, which sees me and two colleagues oversee the day-to-day running of what are now sixteen regional teams in our department.
What does your role involve on a day-to-day basis?
My role, alongside two other Client Operations Managers, is to oversee the day-to-day running of the Client Services department ensuring we continue to set the benchmark for our industry. Put simply, I’m tasked with ensuring Transact continues to offer the best possible service by turning around our work quicker than the rest with 100% accuracy, whilst providing polite, prompt and technical expertise in all forms of our communication.
In order to do this, we need to have the best people. I am involved in the recruitment and ongoing talent management in our department ensuring we bring in high performing, service oriented people whilst continually developing our existing staff.
What do you enjoy about working at Transact?
We are not averse to change and, as a result, we are always on the move. It is the fast paced working environment that I thoroughly enjoy. It keeps me engaged and makes me feel empowered to put forward ideas to help us improve.
In my role I get the opportunity to see others progress in their careers. I have seen many people transition into key roles across the business and it is really rewarding to see.
How would you describe the culture at Transact?
Transact encourages an open working environment. We make the most of being based in one office by building close, respectful and honest relationships across the business. As a company we celebrate success together and we always look to recognise individual and collective achievements. This makes it feel like we are all part of one big team.
What advice would you give someone joining the business?
No idea is a bad idea! Transact has come a long way and it comes from every single person’s input. You really feel as if your opinion is respected and as someone new to the business we encourage you to speak with freedom, as we require everyone’s insight to drive us forward.
